About Us

The Mustard Seed is a ministry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church whose goal is to provide young children ages 18 months to three-years-old with a safe, caring environment to learn and grow. We believe children learn through exploration and play, so children are exposed daily to art, music, cooking, interest centers and circle time while reinforcing Christian principles. Daily gross motor opportunities are provided on our outdoor adventure playground with lots of trees and natural elements. The children attend Chapel weekly where they hear the word of God and experience his love with worship led by St. Luke’s Director of Children and Family Ministries, Kris Spilker.

Our program, which is licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, operates Tuesday through Friday from 8:30-12:30 and follows a school year calendar. There is an optional early care 7:45-8:30 and after school care 12:30-1:30 available. We are a small program with only two classrooms, ages 18 months – young 2’s and older 2’s – 3 years old, with two teachers in each classroom.

Enrollment for each school year begins in January. Available spots are offered to new students on our waitlist with priority given to church members or siblings of The Mustard Seed and St. Luke’s Episcopal School students. If you are interested in more information about The Mustard Seed or to add your child to the waitlist, please contact the Mustard Seed Director at mustardseed@stlukes-sa.net or 210-828-6425.
